VFX-DT

3D MAX-DRY SYSTEM

For interiors of "VFX-DT", polyurethane foam is cut 3 dimensionally matching to a shape of human head. This realizes both good fit for comfortable wearing and firm hold in various actions. For interior materials which touch skins directly, meshed fabrics of HYGRA(R), which is a new generation synthetic fiber in high moisture absorption and exhaust performance and was favored already as FD series summer interiors, is used. HYGRA(R) is consisting of special water absorption polymer absorbing water weighing 35 times more than it own weight and nylon which covers polymer. compared with nylon fiber, its moisture absorption and exhaust capacity is 2 times and moisture absorption and exhaust speed is 1.5 times. Meshed type is applied for VFX-DT for better ventilation. It works surprisingly for sweat and qucik drying after washing. *HYGRA(R) is a registered trademark of UNITIKA FIBERS LTD. All interior parts from cheek pad and center pad to chinstrap cover are removable. Fine adjustment of size is easy by replacing with optional pad. And also, all interior parts can be removed and washed after hard riding. SHOEI's own Q.R.I.P. system is applied to equipping interiors. It makes equipping easy and firm and also, corresponds to "Emergency Concept" for third party to remove helmet in accident.

Ventilation System

Front air intake of forehead portion is posiiotned at a point where fresh air may be absorbed most effectively. Air absorbed from nose cover in top end of chin bar is lead through inside of chin bar to side head portion to improve cooling effect widely. For air exhaust, "Extractor Ventilation" was newly designed for VFX-DT. This aggressive ventilation not only improves ventilation perform,ance but also may be removed for safety and easy cleaning as well as being replaceable whne damaged. Air outlets are equipped in neck portion and right and left rear portion to exhaust hot air effectively.

Cross Visor

"To create a more aggressive image and express individualistic design", "To make such maintenance as cleaning easy due to a nature of motocross" and "To minimize air resistance of a visor during high speed riding" Cross Visor is newly designed to satisfy these requirements. It supports firmly motard riding including motocross riding and on road riding. Visor is fixed at top head and both sides to shell by newly designed screws which may be tightened by hand. VFX-DT's air resistance is tested in wind tunnel experiment (wind equivalent to 60km/h) and is found much smaller than that of VFX-R.

Newly Designed Shell

Targetting to realize light weight and proper shell size maintaining high rigidity by broad ribs and shape of shell, 4 sized newly designed shells are developped. SHOEI's own lightweight high rigidity AIM+ construction promises firm impact absorption performance.

*AIM+(Advanced Integrated Matrix Plus Multi-Fiber) High performance organic fiber material with high elasticity is added to complex layers of strong glass fiber and organic fiber. This realizes SHOEI's own shell structure which is lightweight and with high rigidity and elasticity.

Impact Absorption Liner

Semi dual liner is applied for impact absorption liner to improve ventilation performance maintaining advantage in impact absorption performance. "Air Route" in 2 layer construction liner leads hot air effectively to outlet to improve cooling performance substantially. Impact absorption liner is placed in chin bar portion for safety.

Nose Cover

Same as cross visor, newly designed aggressive, speedy and practical nose cover is equipped. Filter is installed inside to avoid invasion of rain water and dust. It can be washed easyly when mudded. Practice for motocress rider is properly reflected in its design.

Mud Guard

Practical but stylish mud guard is standard equipped. Everything including size and material is newly designed to avoid invasion of mud to mouth area and create more comfortable VFX-DT.
