Q.R.S.A. (Quick Release Self Adjusting) System

Shield is pressed to helmet by double actions to restrain invasion of rainwater and noise.

SHOEI's shield system which has been supported by riders of the world because of its high convenience and design has advanced further. Newly developed Q.R.S.A. System is, in addition to favored easy removal and fixing, equipped with double action mechanism using variable axis. When a shield is placed downward, a shield base slides rearward by spring and press a shield to a helmet firmly. This new mechanism realizing close contact of a shield restrains invasion of rainwater and roll-in of riding wind. Noise is restrained ultimately to achieve never experienced quietness.
In order to improve close contact of a shield and a window beading, structure of window beading is renewed in addition to applying Q.R.S.A. System. Top portion is in an elastic lip shape while side and bottom portions are in curled and lip shape. A shield which comes sliding from front and a window beading contact each other firmly all through.

Pre-set Lever & Shield Lock Mechanism

In Q.R.S.A. System, SHOEI's own pre-set lever which works for locking a shield and for keeping a shield slightly opened also advanced further for easy handling. Move a lever downward from standard position with a shield fully closed. Then, a shield base slides frontward and opens a shield slightly. An air absorbed inside a shield eliminates fogging of a shield. When a lever is moved upward, a shield lock mechanism works and restrains unexpected opening of a shield in an accident.*

Widened eye port improves comfort in riding. Eye port of Z-6 is substantially enlarged by 10mm vertically and 4mm horizontally compared with its predecessor, Z-5.* Such an enlarged eye port enhances safety and comfort in riding largely. CW-1 is 3-D shaped and made of polycarbonate same as its predecessors. Clear vision with minimum distortion and toughness against small stones are secured. * Compared in M size

New Pinlock® fog-free sheet is wider than former sheet to cover almost all vision. CW-1 shield standard equipped to Z-6 fits to new Pinlock® fog-free sheet which covers almost all vision.* Pinlock® fog-free sheet which restrains fogging of a shield and provides a clear vision by nature of sheet and air chamber between a shield and a sheet enhances comfort and concentration during a ride in rain or low temperature. A new sheet covers an upper portion of vision which could not be covered by a former sheet to enlarge clear area of vision. There is a rib in a top end of CW-1 shield to secure fitting with Pinlock® fog-free sheet. This two step shape avoids a step inside a shield when a sheet is fixed and improves close contact with window beading and makes handling of opening/closing of a shield. *Pinlock® fog-free sheet is an optional equipment.
