Advanced Aero-shape Recalling Passion of Riding A shape of XR-1100 is characterized mostly by an air spoiler created from totally new idea. Edge line starting from chin bar portion is extended to rear head sharply and forms a spoiler. An ultimate aero-form with integration of shell and spoiler was completed. A spoiler separated from ventilation parts created a design purely for aerodynamics. A comprehensive aerodynamic performance including placement of Tail Fin 3 at the bottom of shell to control air stream succeeded in restraining DRAG and LIFT largely and secures prominent stability in any situation. Among many and many helmets, refined styling of XR-1100 has outstanding character. Its "stylish and emotional" design enhances expectation for riding and creates an images of any riding scene from routine riding to winding and long touring on week end.

Ventilation

Ventilation performance in higher level is realized in various riding scenes.

XR-1100 developed for variety of users. Its newly designed ventilation mechanism corresponds to various bike categories and riding scenes and works effectively for cooling to provide comfort in higher level. For an upper air intake, an angle to absorb air most effectively was pursued. Absorption and exhaust holes of lower air intake opening and closing in 2 steps are enlarged and prevent fogging of a shield. And top air outlet, a biggest characteristic of XR-1100's ventilation, is separated from spoiler and located in area for the best exhaust performance. Making 4 exhaust holes secured large exhaust area and made possible effective exhaust in any riding position. And, all ventilation parts are integrated with shell to appeal high design of XR-1100.

CW-1 Shield + Q.R.S.A. System

Close contact of shield realizes real quietness.
Handling easiness of preset lever is also improved.

CW-1 shield + Q.R.S.A. system, an innovative shield mechanism created from SHOEI's long time studies, is adopted to XR-1100. In addition to one touch fixing and removing favored by riders of the world, newly developed variable axis double action mechanism presses a shield to a helmet strongly to improve sealing substantially. Newly designed window beading improved close contact of shield and shell, restrains occurrence of wind noise around circumference of shield to realize real quietness. Such close contact restrains invasion of rainwater inside of eye port also and maintains comfort during ride. New designing of fine open mechanism to avoid fogging of shield and preset lever having shield lock system to control sudden opening improved handling easiness.

Pinlock® fog-free system

Area of anti-fog sheet is enlarged.
Clearness of vision in low temperature is improved substantially.

New Pinlock® fog-free sheet restraining fogging of vision by 2 layers of anti-fog sheet and shield is standardized. Combination of new sheet and CW-1 shield covers upper vision of shield widely. An area of clear vision in forward-bent position is enlarged to improve comfort and safety during ride in low temperature condition.

Dual Liner

High Impact Absorption Performance realized by 2 Layers
Strong Exhaust through 8 Ports

Well balanced combination of impact absorption liner in different hardness in 2 layers performs high impact absorption in various types of accidents. Air route is extended between 2 liners to lead hot and humid air inside a helmet to outlet effectively. It plays an important role for comfort.

AIM+ Shell

Shell in Complex Layers of High Performance Materials Securing Safety by Hardness and Light Weight SHOEI does not compromise safety in any product. AIM+, complex layers of strong fiber glass, organic fibers and high performance organic fibers in high elasticity, is adopted to XR-1100. High rigidity and elasticity protect a head from impact in an accident and light weight of shell contributes to restraining of rider's fatigue and to maintaining concentration. Its safety performance satisfies strict requirements of JIS and MFJ easily.

Fitting

From "Comfort" to "Nimble" Prominent Quick Dry and Fit & Hold Fitting of a helmet which touches head directly affects comfort during ride largely. 3D Full Support Inner 4 of XR-1100 is made of 3D formed center pad and cheek pad to be similar to a shape of head, and assembling of polyurethane foams in different hardness and thickness realizes fit wrapping a head and firm hold with minimum shakes. Fabrics of "HYGRA®", synthetic fiber in high water absorption and quick dry performance, are used as fabrics for interiors. Raised fabrics used in bottom area improved touches at wearing and removing. All interior parts are removable to make washing, maintenance and fine adjustment of size easy. 3 sizes are available for shell to provide firm wearing feeling in each product size.

E.Q.R.S.

Helmet Removing System in Emergency When an accident happens, removing a helmet by a third party is not easy. In addition to impact absorption performance and comfort, supporting a rescue work in emergency is also one of important performance of helmet. E.Q.R.S. (Emergency Quick Release System) developed by SHOEI is a system to remove a helmet by simple handling of tab minimizing a load of a rider.
