TRIRECT AIR INTAKE to Feel Wind Stream
3 Direct type intake holes are located in forehead portion which is most exposed by wind pressure. TRIRECT AIR INTAKE to feel "wind stream" from forehead, top head to rear head is designed through SHOEI's wind tunnel experiment. Riding wind absorbed inside wraps hot and humid air inside helmet is exhausted smoothly through HYPER DUAL LINER II, 2 layers construction liner.
New Arrow Vortex Ventilation
Newly developped Arrow Vortex Ventilation advanced further from Vortex Ventilation in V shape is equipped. It improved stability in high speed riding. Exhaust performance is advanced by 10% compared with former model. SHOEI, favored for prominent ventilation performance progressed further.
Hyper Dual Liner II, Real Ventilation Created by 2 Layers Impact Absorption Liner
Ventilation performance of helmet cannot be improved by simply equipping intake and outlet. SHOEI has been developping and applying D.L.V. System with air route in 2 layers impact absorption liner to collect hot air in each point and exhaust it. To X-9, enhanced Hyper Dual Liner II developped for X-Eleven is applied for further improvement.
Aero Air Intake & Breath Chamber II, Ventilation System controlling Air around Mouth
Lower air intake is equipped to chin guard to absorb air in 2 ways of defroster and direct intake. Further, Breath Chamber II is equipped inside same as X-Eleven. Supplying fresh air around mouth, they exhaust it from bottom end of helmet effectively blocking expiration to spread into shield area.
Aerodynamics Shape
Newly designed shell of X-9 in prominent aero shape is developped from wind tunnel experiment based upon development philosophy of SHOEI who considers importance of aerodynamics. Minimizing air resistance, it secured rigidity and effective ventilation performance. Aero shape creating unity with rider progressed further in X-9.
Light Weight
Lightweight helmet restrains fatigues of rider not only restrains impact energy in accident. Light weight is realized in X-9 also by development of lightweight and strong AIM+ construction shell, review of weight balance and use of lightweight removable interior parts, etc.
AIM+ (Advanced Integrated Matrix Plus Multi-Fiber)
High performance organic fiber in high elasticity is added to complex layers of strong glass fiber and 3D shaped organic fibers. Lightweight but rigid and elastic high performance shell is realized.
Exclusive Shell for Each S, M, L, XL Size
Exclusive shell is developped for each S, M, L and XL size. While M and L sized helmets are usually made of adjusted interior pads on the same shell, exclusive shell and liner are applied for X-9 to realized lightweight and compact helmet in even fit for each size.
Wrap-around-the-head Fit not Depending upon Elasticity of Polyurethane Foam Pad
Elastic polyurethane foam is important material for better fit. But elasticity itself causes shakes of helmet in high speed riding. Different from interiors securing hold by thick polyurethane foam, interiors of X-9 consist of liner with inner surface similar to shape of human head and 3D Full Support Inner Type 3. proper fit and stability in high speed riding are both realized.
Rear View in Unity of Performance and Shape
Rear view, simple but designed with latest know-how, is shaped with edge and outlet to make rear portion tight. High quality design born from prominent performance is a real point of X-9 in advanced styling.
Locking Mechanism Equipped to Easy and Firm Putting off/on Shield System
CX-1V and Q.R.V. favored by many riders in the world including racing riders are applied for shield system. Combination of UV cut shield made of high quality polycarbonate and easy removing/fixing shield base is perfect system totally different from that with uneasy shield replacement. Shield lock mechanism is equipped to shield bas to lock shield by pulling preset lever rearward easily with shield closed.
