It is advertised as "compact product." By how many percent is it compact compared with former product?
We advise comparisons in dimensions below because comparisons in volume are difficult. Comparisons of Z-5 Shell with Other Product A of Ours in M Size (Measured by our Designing Dept.)
Width : -4mm (Z-5 is narrower by 4mm.)
Forehead: -2mm, Rear Head: plus/minus 0mm (Z-5 is shorter by 2mm.)
Top Head: -3mm, Bottom End: -5mm (Z-5 is lower by 8mm.)
Above values are measured at certain points. Total shapes differ depending upon model and size.
Not only in real dimensions, Z-5 was designed to look compact. We believe that you feel it compact when you wear it. While Z-5 was designed lightweight and compact, it satisfies all requirements of the standard to protect head properly.
May I participate in race or riding event in circuit wearing Z-5?
Z-5 satisfies JIS only but is not MFJ certified. Therefore, it cannot be used in MFJ recognized races. While it can be used in most of riding events, it is recommended to consult with sponsors because some sponsors have different rules.
What is "Aero Chin Curtain", an optional part of Z-5?
"Aero Chin Curtain" is a component to be fixed below chin portion of helmet to control air turbulence, to restrain rolling-in of uncomfortable wind below chin guard, to exhaust expiration from front slits using negative pressure, to let fresh air circulate always inside chin guard and to eliminate blocked feeling and moistures. It shall be inserted in a gap between shell and liner while it is removable.
